Vietnam bike tour Hoi An Ho Chi Minh Trail Hue Phong Nha pass the Prao and throught villages on the way. Ride through the pristine jungle along the border of Laos. Visit Khe Sanh combat base, DMZ and historical attrations in Hue.

Trip itinerary

Day 1: Hoi An – Hue (150km)

We will follow the small roads through the rice fields to beautiful Tra Que vegetable village. We will continue to visit the Marble Mountains, explore caves, pagoda on the mountains and sculptures which were made by hand from passion stone. We will take you along the My Khe beach which has been voted the most beautiful   beach on the planet. Son Tra Peninsula is where we will stop in the Linh Ung pagoda with Vietnam’s biggest Buddha statue. Then to Hai van pass, from here we can admire the beautiful panorama and enjoy the most beautiful scenery in Vietnam. We will then go down and stop for lunch on the lake. After lunch, we will continue via the Phu Gia Pass and go to elephants springs, here where you can relax and swim. Next stop is at the Fishing village in the Tam Giang lagoon before we arrive in Hue.

Day 2: Hue _Dong Hoi via DMZ(200km)

First stop is in Quang Tri citadel which suffered 81 days and nights of fire bombing in 1972. We will follow small roads through the countryside, crossing the ”floating bridge” then onto the Hien Luong bridge: known as the “Peace Bridge”, a beam bridge built from steel by the French in 1950 which marks the border between North and South Vietnam before Here and Ben Hai river: an important landmark in the partition of the country into a northern and a southern zone along the 17th parallel by the Geneva Accords of 1954. We will then arrive at the Vinh Moc Tunnels, where an entire village went underground in 1960 to survive the bombing. The complex of tunnels, located deep in the Vietnamese Demilitarized Zone, include wells, kitchens and rooms for each family. After exploring the Vinh Moc tunnels we will pass through the tunnel that leads us to the local beach here. In the afternoon, we will drive along the HCM highway east to Dong Hoi.

Day 3: Dong Hoi – Phong Nha National Park(60km)

After breakfast, we will take you to the Phong Nha National Park with a day free to explore caves, including Asia’s longest limestone cave, and enjoy  traditional Vietnamese lunch at the local restaurant. In the afternoon, you can wander around and swim in the Moc springs or walk in tropical forests.

Day 4: Ho Chi Minh Trail (Phong Nha – Khe Sanh)(220km)

Driving along HCM highway western, we have a beautiful day to see many majestic limestone karst and spectacular old-growth jungle. This road follows the original HCM. Trail through some of the most rugged terrain before going to Khe Sanh.

Day 5: Khe Sanh – Prao via Aluoi(190km)

Leaving Khe Sanh we come to the houses-on-stilts belonging to the ethnic minorities on the roads to Prao. We will stop  for lunch on Hamburger hill then, in the afternoon, we will continue along the HCM trail and stop at hot springs to relax and then go to visit the ethnic minorities village overnight in Prao town.

Day 6: Prao – Hoi An(160km)

We will follow the small roads through the ethnic village and waterfalls, relaxing and swimming, before returning to Hoi An.

To continue the adventure, we will stop and visit Cham tower built in the 11th century and the historic American war sites. Then we will take you to see farmers working on the fields. On the return trip we ride the “floating bridge” and cross the Thu Bon River by “local ferry” enjoying picturesque views of the sunset.
